SEI's date picker "quarter" presets (This quarter, Last quarter, named quarters) and query-level date grouping are all based on the calendar year (Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, etc.). Many organizations plan on a different cadence — quarters starting mid-month (e.g. Feb 15), week-based 13-week quarters (4-4-5), or an explicit custom calendar that varies year to year. For these organizations, metrics like Throughput reported "per quarter" don't line up with how the business actually plans, and today the only workaround is hardcoding quarter dates into individual widget queries, which then have to be manually updated every year and still don't fix the date picker itself.
We'd like a tenant-level admin setting where an organization defines its quarters once (via a year-start date, week-based quarter rules, or an explicit list of quarter start/end dates), used in two places: the date picker's quarter presets, which continue feeding the existing ${startTimeFilter}/${endTimeFilter} so today's widgets work unchanged; and a query-readable definition (e.g. an ${org_quarters} variable) so custom widgets can reference multiple quarters at once — for example, to show throughput across several quarters side by side.
