As of now we have JIRA create and update, but, we are looking for an option to query JIRA issues as well.
It shall be possible to query and fetch the Jira information for a ticket. Discovery of Jira query step on the information required to be consumed in the subsequent steps

Since the Update Jira step can return ticket details without an update, can the step be renamed to something like "Fetch/Update Jira" so it's clearer this can be used for Update and Read requests?

I need a feature in Harness that allows me to retrieve the latest JIRA ticket created in a specific project. Currently, the step library only includes JIRA Create, JIRA Update, and JIRA Approve steps, but lacks a step for fetching JIRA tickets. This feature should also support filtering by issue type and client type, and allow populating certain JIRA fields.

With the JIRA Update step, an issue key can be provided, without update configuration.This would enable the values of the JIRA ticket to be available as part of the output step. Could you have check and let us know the feedback on the same.
