Add UI Option for Configuring Resource Requests in Container Step
in progress

Description: Currently, the Harness container step does not provide an option to configure resource requests directly from the UI. This feature is controlled from the Harness backend, limiting users' flexibility and control.
Requirement: We need an enhancement in the Harness UI that allows users to configure resource requests (CPU and memory) for the container step. This configuration should be optional, and if no specific values are provided, the system defaults to predefined settings.
Use Case: This feature is crucial for running JMeter or other performance tests as part of the continuous deployment (CD) process. Performance tests often require specific resource allocations to ensure accurate and reliable results. Without the ability to configure these resources, users may face challenges in optimizing their testing environments, potentially leading to inaccurate performance metrics and inefficient resource utilization.

The Container Step is no longer being invested in by Harness and is end of support. We have a container step group with a run step that allows for these configurations. https://developer.harness.io/docs/continuous-delivery/x-platform-cd-features/cd-steps/containerized-steps/containerized-step-groups/

I understand that Harness no longer supports the Container Step and that there is a Container Step group with a run step that allows for these configurations.
However, even within the container step group, I cannot find the resource requests option in the UI. Could you please show me where to find the resource requests for memory and CPU? Currently, I can only see the memory limit and CPU limit options.
Additionally, I have already submitted a support ticket, and Harness support confirmed that this feature is not yet present in Harness. They asked me to submit this to the idea board. You can find the support ticket here: https://support.harness.io/hc/en-us/requests/82440
I would appreciate it if you could wait for my response before rejecting the feature request.
Thank you for your understanding

Hi Rohan,
Any update on the above justification?
Are you going to consider this enhancement request?
