Pipeline UX Improvements

This relates to the pipeline deployment view for the CD.
- Have a horizontal and vertical scrollbar in the default view as CG. it helps scroll rather than do a drag and drop each time.
- When a pipeline is opened, go to the current running step directly and show the logs of the same, rather than selecting manually.
- If I have minimized some things which are in progress or completed, let it be minimized, expanding again every time is not ideal.
- For looping stage group, can we have the progress in linear? i.e. If I see the deployment post some time, I would not know which stage group executed first or last as all would be shown in parallel.
- In Console view, allow one to drag the left sidebar so I can see the name of the steps in case nested steps.
- In console view, for jira approval show the ticket created at the start of the log.
- In Console view, allow one to minimize a step group, looping elements as it would make it easy to follow it.
- please please please bring back the execution context as part of inputs or a separate tab as it makes it way more harder to debug without it.
- Show me in the UI with single glance on what artifact is being deployed.
- In console view, provide a way to mark as failure.
- In case of step group, or stage, show the stage name properly. Currently the view of passed, failed, in progress hides the name and its not clear visually on what is the step group name, what it might be doing etc.

Steps in side bar isn't visible in console view

UI/UX - In case of nested grouping/parallelization, steps in side bar isn't visible. Non-console view isn't helpful always as you have to drag here n there.

Need horizontal scroll bar in particular pipeline's execution page
E
Environmental Cuckoo
For huge pipelines, lets say more than 30 stages, when our users are trying to go through an execution, it is difficult to perform horizontal scroll.
They have to drag and scroll to the right side, which is a tedious task.
If they click on zoom to fit, its too small to view
Request to implement horizontal scroll bar.

Slider to slide horizontaly in the console view for better visibility
R
Representative Llama
We need to have a slider in the console view to see the names of the steps properly in case of nested stepgroups and parallel runs.
This would allow one to drag the sidebar and see the names properly which would help with the navigation. This can be like a jira slider in the image.

UX: Parity in case of console view and normal view
R
Representative Llama
There are many things that are not there for console view but there for normal view. some mentioned
- click on service, it does not take to service.
- seeing the resource lock queue - not possible in console
- marking manual intervention for a step - not possible in console view
- minimizing at step group level - not possible in console view
- Seeing Jira in the logs - not possible
- View delegate selection logs - not possible
- view step start time and end time - not possible.
ideally, we want all the AIs that user can perform from the normal view via a console view.

Support Scroll functionality in pipeline executed view

Need to support scroll functionality in pipeline executions view so that we can scroll and see all executed steps when there are multiple parallel steps.
Currently it becomes difficult ti view all steps as we have to use drag as it doesn't have the scroll functionality

Thanks for the discussion, Representative Llama. We will get back to you with dates and related info as we work through these.

Sudarshan Purohit: Hi, two more UI issues were identified during a demo prep.
12 Have Deployment freeze in the left sidebar in case the project is selected. In CD sidebar it is there but it duplicates info and all things required we have in the project sidebar except freeze info so we want folks to use the project selection and ignore all the module info.
13 In case a service is selected from the service screen, it should open the summary tab by default instead of the configuration tab as once the service is setup, the change would be less but the recent execution view becomes important. From CD view it is as expected and opens the summary tab so not sure why the diff behaviour.
These seem like bugs but was not sure if a support ticket would cover it so adding here. lmk if you want me to have a bug ticket or want to track this differently.

Rohan Gupta: Sudarshan Purohit , Kalyan and I Had a chat regarding these issues, will wait from Harness team on the ETA and updates on the issues. Some of these are bugs, new features, parity gaps so expecting some info on each things individually.
